Chief Swoboda here –

Earlier this week, Donny Ray Pulliam was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing 19-year-old Dylan Salas last year.

All homicide investigations are difficult, and I want to commend everyone who worked on this case. From dispatchers and initial patrol officers whose quick response made a very real difference, to detectives who located the suspect within hours of the incident, to investigators and prosecutors who worked tirelessly to seek justice in this case.

While this outcome won’t fill the void left with Dylan’s family and friends, it will remove a violent offender from our community and make this a safer place.

*Man Arrested for Stabbing*

One man is in custody after stabbing another man.

On January 13, 2019 at 3:52pm, Fort Collins 9-1-1 received a report of a physical disturbance between two men. Police located the men in the 1800 block of N College Avenue. Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that the dispute occurred when suspect Jeffrey Gibson (DOB 11/02/54) reportedly produced a knife and assaulted the victim, David Baird.

Baird was transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. Gibson was arrested for First Degree Assault (class 3 felony) and booked into the Larimer County Jail.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have additional information is asked to contact Officer Kate Garcia at 970-221-6555 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.

All charges are simply an accusation by law enforcement officers, and all arrested parties must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
