*Man Arrested for Stabbing*
At 2:05 a.m. on February 15, 2019, Fort Collins 9-1-1 received a call regarding a stabbing in the area of Mason Street and Mountain Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and located the victim, Curtis Bunce, 23. Bunce was transported to an area hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators determined that Bunce and a group of friends had been standing outside when an unknown male suspect reportedly approached the group and stabbed Bunce. The suspect fled the area on foot. He was later identified as Schyler King (DOB 01/27/85). King was located at home and taken into custody at approximately 3:25 a.m. He was transported to the Larimer County Jail and booked on the charge of 2nd Degree Assault (class 4 felony).
“I want to recognize the outstanding team effort that went into this case,” said FCPS Chief Jeff Swoboda. “With the help of our 911 team and local first responder partners, the victim quickly received the care he needed and officers were able to safely take the suspect into custody.”
Anyone with information, who has not already spoken to police, is asked to call Detective Chris O’Loughlin at 970-416-2571 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868 or www.stopcriminals.org.
All charges are simply an accusation by law enforcement officers, and all arrested parties must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

In just a few months, a group from FCPS will join Police Unity Tour – Team Colorado to honor fallen officers in a challenging 300-mile bicycle ride.
We often get questions from our community about how they can show support for law enforcement. The team is holding a number of public events and fundraisers over the next few months, which will support the May event.
There are two events coming up this weekend – a fundraising partnership with FireHouse Xpress Car Wash in Fort Collins and a charity concert featuring Face Vocal Band in Lafayette.
Best of luck as you continue training, Team Colorado!
